MATCH OFF BUT EXCELLENT BROOKBANKS INTERVIEW IS THE TALK OF THE TOWN!

It will come as no surprise to many that the Fa Trophy match with Worksop Town scheduled for today as been postponed after a night and morning of constant rain, coming on the back of yesterday’s downpours.

Carlton have now agreed with Matlock that the game will be played on Wednesday night and we will hopefully confirm that when the League have been consulted to approve.

Tommy Brookbanks meanwhile was in good form on the NPL Show promoting the game in an extensive interview and talking about Carlton’s excellent start to the season.

Brookbanks told the show that in 25 years, it was the best dressing room in terms of the attitude of the players he had ever worked in and that says something given his achievements in the game.

Brookbanks also told the show that he and Mark were really enjoying life at Carlton Town and that they made a fantastic decision in coming to the club, ironically the club Carlton were due to play today Matlock Town are a club the duo could possibly have ended up at when the management merry go round was in full swing this summer.

Carlton are indeed happy that they are both at Stoke Lane, Brookbanks said that their first priority was to get Carlton into the top 10 after the club had struggled towards the bottom of the table in recent years and he was pleasantly surprised by the amount of young talent that was at the club.

So the first part of the weekend proceeded with an outstanding Firework Extravaganza, any potential  Fireworks on the pitch will just have to wait for a few days more.
