MILLERS ABSOLUTELY GUTTED TO LOSE TUESDAY NIGHTS FIXTURE !
Carlton Town have put a significant amount of time and money into improving the playing surface this summer, but despite the surface standing up to the rain and reports coming from the Bill Stokeld Stadium early on Tuesday morning, that if the rain stopped, the game should definitely be able to go ahead, the satellite report from Trent Bridge soon dappened spirits.
The pitch could take 36 hours none stop rain, but 48 hours would prove to much and the referee inspecting at 10.30am called the game off.
It was the right decision, particularly taking into account the distance Dunston have to come and when the 3G all weather pitch is also waterlogged, you realise the amount of rain that has fallen in the last 48 hours.
The Millers had a number of fans coming from both Leicestershire and Lincolnshire and were expecting a reasonable gate, given the Millers have not had had a home game since August and senior figures at the club, both on the playing side and Commitee side were said to be gutted and could not believe the clubs bad luck.
Attention however now switches to this coming Saturday when Liversage are the visitors to Stoke Lane, Boatsy has kindly sponsored the Match Ball and the kick off is 3pm
There are a few tickets remaining for the evening with Nottingham Forest Legend Frank Clarke this coming Friday night at £40 which includes a 2 course meal and can be purchased from Boatsy on 07907 064189.
