MILLERS COME FROM BEHIND TO BEAT SHEFFIELD AT THE DEATH
Carlton Town had to work hard against bottom of the table Sheffield Fc to maintain their unbeaten run which has now stretched to six games, after their 2-1 win on a cold Tuesday night in Sheffield.
The. Millers had Niall Davie to thank for a brilliant strike in the 93rd minute after Nat Watson had equalised midway through the second half, with a fine header after a fine cross from Charlie Carter.
Earlier Sheffield had taken the lead with a great strike from Luke Aldrich in the 22nd minute against the run of play, but it’s fair to say that when Carlton grabbed their winner, that to had come against the run of play with Sheffield on top just before the wonder strike.
Despite the 2-1 win, Carlton remain 10th in the Northern Premier East League with 44 points from 29 games.
The Millers have won 4 and drawn 2 of their last 6 games after the frustrating 1-0 Boxing Day defeat at Sherwood Colliery and will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday when 6th placed Newton Aycliffe visit the Bill Stokeld Stadium.
Carlton Town Tv were right across it and caught up with Assistant Manager Andy Clerke and winning goal scorer Niall Davie outside the Coach and Horses Pub as players and supporters enjoyed a post match beverage.
