MILLERS KEEP THEIR PROMISE RE DEFIBRILLATOR GAME AND DETAILS OF TROPHY FOR PEACE DAY THIS SUNDAY
Carlton Town are delighted to provide an update on two of the community fund raising events being held at the Bill Stokeld Stadium this month.
When Carlton were awarded a new defibrillator a few weeks ago, Chairman Mick Garton and Commercial Chief Gary Clarke promised Amanda from “Defibs for Grassroots Football” the charity could stage a fund raising day at the ground to help raise money towards the next batch of Defibrillators for clubs still on the waiting list.
Carlton Town are delighted to announce that they have finalised a date with Amanda and the Charity family day will be on Saturday 17th May from 12 midday.
There will be two junior games on the main pitch featuring two under 8s teams and two under 14s teams taking on each other, full details on the local teams taking part will be announced soon.
The first game featuring the under 8s will be played on part of the pitch in front of the Clubhouse at 12.30pm in a game expected to be 20 minutes each way.
The second game kicking off at 2pm will be on the full pitch and will be 40 minutes each way.
A number of prizes have already been donated and will be split between a Tombola, a raffle and an auction and all those playing in the games will make a £10 donation via their parents.
There will be no charge to come in and watch, but all donations for the charity on the gate will be welcome.
The 3G pitches have also been made available to the Charity for the afternoon and the Snackbar and Sportsbar will also be open with the Fa Cup Final between Crystal Palace and Manchester City being shown at the back end of the afternoon in the Clubhouse Sportsbar.
This coming Sunday 4th May kicks off our community month, with a fund raising day to support the families suffering in Ukraine due to the horrendous war, with teams playing for the “Trophy for Peace” with the ground opening at 10am for breakfast cobs, teas, coffees etc.
There are two English teams competing with an Irish team from Greyfriars and the Ukrainian team with semi Finals scheduled for 12.30pm and 1.30pm with the final at 3pm.
Games are 25 minutes each way and there is also a Junior game at 11am featuring the Nottingham Ukrainian School against the Leicester Ukrainian School.
There will be stalls and a raffle with some cracking prizes, to be drawn after the cup final and the event will move to phase two with an event at the Greyfriars club in the evening.
Players will once again pay to play in the tournament and donations are welcomed on the gate.
”Carlton Town Tv will be across all the community work being carried out in May, it’s something very important to the club and now very much part of of the club’s fabric and hopefully we can continue to help many great causes raise vital funds starting this Sunday with Ukraine and then of course Monday 5th May with the ‘Children with Cancer’ Charity day and then continuing throughout May with a number of fantastic events” Chairman Mick Garton told us today.
