MILLERS LEGENDS SET TO BE AMONG SPECIAL MATCHDAY GUESTS IN 2022.

Carlton Town will continue with their new policy of inviting special Matchday guests for selected games in 2022 and this website understands that as well as local football legends from Nottingham Forest and potentially Notts County, the club will broaden their horizon in the new year given the popularity of the new policy, the brainchild of new Marketing and Commercial Manager Boatsy.

Ian Storey Moore, one of the finest players ever to ware the famous Nottingham Forest Garibaldi shirt is set to appear in January and the club are hoping to invite one or two of their own legends back to Stoke Lane as special guests.

Les McJannet went down a treat with supporters at the recent Nottinghamshire Senior Cup win and among the guests being considered for 2022, the Chappo brothers are firmly on the list.

Steve Chaplin was a legend on the pitch for many clubs in his long career and Carlton Town was certainly one of them during Tommy Brookbanks first spell at the club, the prolific goal scorer and popular centre forward along with his brother Chris who was a legend off the pitch, winning the pool marathon and known for his brilliant dancing on presentation nights, as well doing every job going behind the scenes a few years ago and also a popular figure when he attended away games with the supporters club.

Chairman Mick Garton caught up with Chris Chappo over the Festive season and Chris even missed his bus as they stood talking opposite Mick’s Msr Newsgroup store on Friar Lane.

After the Spalding postponement, Carlton will be hoping their pitch continues to hold firm, so that the New Years Day clash with Daventry can go ahead, it’s looking positive at the moment folks and everyone at the club is looking forward to the first fixture of 2022 with hopefully a bumper crowd!
