MILLERS LOOKING FORWARD TO SEPTEMBER GOLF DAY AT OAKMERE PARK.

Carlton Town President Roger Smith is working hard behind the scenes to finalise plans for this years annual Golf Day at Oakmere Park on Friday 23rd September.

Fund raisers are now taking on extra significance with Carlton’s early exit from the Fa Cup and the extra travel costs as a result of being moved from the Northern premier Midland’s league to the Northern Premier East League by the Football association. On Saturday for example, The Millers travel to Consett, a round trip of over 300 miles.

The club however are working hard to raise funds as ever and the Golf Day is a big part of that, the cost to enter a team of 4 has been frozen at £180 and includes coffee and a Bacon Cob on arrival and a 2 course meal before the presentation.

Marstons and Msr Newsgroup have jointly kindly sponsored the event and the club are hopeful of a decent turnout.

Let’s make it a very special day indeed as it was last year when current joint manager Tommy Brookbanks and former manager Les Mcjannet teamed up for a catch up (pictured), but on that occasion, they could not trouble the leader board!
