MILLERS OFF TO AN IMPRESSIVE AND WINNING START AT STOKE LANE

Arron Apoku’s second goal in 4 days was enough to see off the tough challenge of Bedworth United at Stoke Lane as Carlton started their home league campaign.

Praise was high prior to the game for Josh Hodgson and his new look Matchday programme with the nice tributes to Brian Dennett and Lou’s fantastic picture gallery going down well.

On the pitch, Carlton were close to an early lead when a brilliant Niall Davie free kick hit the underside of the crossbar, but failed to cross the line.

Bedworth proved good strong and formidable opposition, but chances for Carlton’s opponents were few and far between with the Millers excellent throughout in every department.

The all important goal for Apoku came in the second half following excellent work by the impressive Nat Watson.

Arron was nominated man of the match by the Match Sponsors Times Furnishings and Dave Perrin stayed behind to present the prize.

A big thankyou to Dave and the 142 who attended the game and the highlights will be shown in due course on our new look Carlton Town Tv which is set to have a relaunch in the coming days.

Millers Tv Match day host Quentin caught up with Joint manager Tommy Brookbanks and new signing Kyle Sargent after the game and those interviews will make up part of the highlights package.

Carlton are next in action on Saturday in the Fa Cup away at Maltby Main and supporters are reminded they can book a trip both ways on the official club coach which leaves the ground at  just after 11.30am.
