NEW SEASON AND A NEW LOOK FOR HOWARD MITCHELL SPORTSBAR!

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton has returned from a short break and will this week pick up and deliver the new photographs kindly prepared by Lou and Steve and now framed up by our friends at Signature Framing.

They will take pride of place in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar and celebrate Carlton’s win over Mansfield Town under 23s in the final of the Notts Senior Cup at Basford United in May.

It was Carlton’s first trophy since Wayne Scott led The Millers to the same trophy in 2017 at Meadow Lane some five years ago.

A sixth placed finish and the Senior Cup Triumph made it a season Tommy and Mark and their backroom staff can be proud of, but a whole new chapter in a new league awaits starting next Saturday when Ossett United visit Stoke Lane.

Another upgrade in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar sees a newly covered pool table and work is expected to start soon on the new covered standing area at the top end of the Bill Stokeld Stadium. Mad Gav has been working on this all summer and this website understands, a further update will follow soon.

Boatsy has been working hard too, during the summer , finalising the footpath leading from the new turnstile and doing the groundwork for a small studio for Carlton Town Tv .

On the pitch, Tommy and Mark have been working hard finalising their squad for the new campaign and the Millers played their final friendly against Matlock Town on Saturday gaining a credible 0-0 draw against their highly rated step 3 opponents.

The Millers are also hoping for some rain, but this week’s forecast does not look promising and last week Severn Trent turned up at the ground concerned with the amount of water Carlton have been using watering the pitch, Carlton will be more concerned with the invoice once the latest water metre reading has been taken at the ground.

On a positive note to finish however, Carlton are looking forward to welcoming Ossett United and their supporters to the Bill Stokeld Stadium and are hoping for a decent turnout for the first game of the season.

This website will continue the build up the big first game throughout this week, so watch this space for the latest news and the big kick off !
