NEWS UPDATE FROM STOKE LANE AS THE LEGEND WHO PACKED OUT THE CLUBHOUSE DIES !

Carlton Town would like to add their voice to the chorus of those praising and remembering the great Jack Charlton who just a few years ago thrilled the audience at one of our legendary Christmas Luncheons and he didn’t disappoint with some fantastic tales which made for a memorable afternoon.

Such was the interest in the event that the club had to put up a marquee adjacent to the clubhouse and the club raised significant funds on the day and Charlton kindly signed memorabilia which the club has used to raise money at a number of functions since.

Supporters , both managers and the Chairman were in attendance at the Clubhouse following its reopening for the July 100 club draw and the prizes went to three players and a Supporter.

Arron Opoku picked up the £100 prize, supporter Ash Enright £50 and players Toby Moore and Dan Brown won £25 each with Tommy and Mark both pulling out an envelope.

Tommy told supporters they were making good progress regarding potential Pre Season friendlies and Chairman Mick Garton gave a positive response to some ideas put to him by supporters and no doubt announcements will follow in the coming weeks when the club receives some news on what the plans are for next season from either the Fa or the Government.

Work has continued to prepare the pitch ahead of next season and this website understands Dave Hodgson will have an announcement and statement for us in the coming days.

Supporters were equally positive about the new Instagram and Facebook social Media offerings and about the 100 club money going towards regular maintenance of the pitch with the agreement with Streetwise announced a few days ago.

All in all, there is a very positive at atmosphere at the ground as supporters continue to volunteer and get the ground into a decent state of repair ahead of the new season.

Keep your eyes on our social Media platforms as we will continue to bring supporters right up to date as the picture becomes clearer in the coming days and weeks.
