Chairman Mick Garton’s unswerving commitment and focus to Carlton Town Football Club’s
progression is unquestionable, and has been built upon a small army of dedicated followers;
all united to achieving one goal – Carlton’s continuous success.

Paul Lowe is one such follower- being a long-time friend and business associate of Mick-
and someone who has previously been involved in sponsoring the Carlton Town Youth
Academy over a 2-year period; through one of his charities, Sporting HEARTS.

Paul begins to provide an insight as to why he is very happy to become involved once again
with the football club; this time by sponsoring the youth set-up at the Bill Stokeld Stadium,
through the Speaking From Our HEARTS Community Interest Company…

“As a young lad growing up on the streets of Bestwood -in the 60’s & 70’s -life was very
tough for me. It seemed the only way out of the dark desperate cocktail of alcohol
addiction and violence that had me immersed in its vice-like grip, was the hope of playing
professional football.”

He continues…

“That hope was severely challenged after I failed my trial at Nottingham Forest in 1974 but I
did eventually go on to represent the club – as an Education Mentor – in their prestigious
youth academy, some 24 years later; working under the expert guidance of ‘The Gaffer’ Paul
Hart ”
