PONTEFRACT COACH DETAILS AND FANTASTIC AFTERNOON AT THE DRAGON!

Carlton Town Supporters were out in force on Sunday afternoon with over 70 attending the Dragon pub on Long Row to hear Dj sets from Chairman Mick Garton, Dj of the moment Dan Thorpe and Supporters Club chief Alan Murphy.

Kelly was on raffle duty and with cracking prizes donated by Notts CCC, Castle Rock, Josh Hodgson, MSR Newsgroup and Lindt , 6 books sold by Boatsy and a quiz which was the highlight of a cracking afternoon, the club raised over £700 which will go towards paying for remaining away travel including Saturday’s game against Pontefract.

Talk sport presenter Jonny Owen who attended the game against Stockley on Saturday kindly came down and supported the afternoon and drew the raffle for the club, what a top man indeed!

Commitee members were also out in force and it was good to see the returning Alex Troke (pictured at the event with Boatsy) and his family in attendance supporting the event.

The Landlady of The Dragon Aunit is a fantastic supporter of the club, attending functions and regularly successfully bidding on auction items to support the club and it was brilliant that the club went back to her pub for one of their first events outside their own ground post Covid.

It was an event that went down so well with all attending, according to Commercial chiefs Boatsy and Mad Gav, who were both in attendance and it will be no surprise if the Millers hold another one before the end of 2023.

Congratulations to Nigel Harlow and his team who won the quiz with Jonny Owen’s boys second and Pete and Sue Smiths team which included Mick Garton and Mad Gav coming 3rd.

A fantastic weekend celebrating non league day has only been blighted by Carlton’s 2-0 defeat on Saturday, but they go again next Saturday 2nd April when they visit Pontefract. A Coach will be leaving the ground at 11.15am and calling at Millers Barn at 12pm and any supporters wishing to travel with the team can do so at £15 return by contacting Boatsy on 07907 064189 to book their seat.

Carlton’s travelling costs have been so extensive this season that they are still working to bring in more revenue to reduce their losses this season and they are currently in talks with Nottingham Greyhound Stadium about a night there in May and this website understands it may well  be announced for Friday 12th May with tickets at just £7 each.

Please pencil that date in your diary and we understand the club is hoping to comfirm this week, watch this space and thankyou to everyone who attended the Dragon.
