PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES GOLF DAY AND CLUB CONFIRM TWO BEHIND CLOSED DOORS FRIENDLIES.
Carlton Town are starting to think ahead with plans afoot for events to start rebuilding finances ahead of next season.
One of the first of those looks likely to be the club’s Annual Golf Day at Oakmere Park and Club President Roger Smith has already started working on the event.
The date can today be comfirmed as Friday 16th July with the cost for a team of 4 remaining at £180 with a start expected to be around 11am.
Bacon Cobs and Coffee will start off the day in the Oakmere Park Clubhouse before teams take to the excellent course for around 4 and a half hours of golf before a pint or 2 back in the Clubhouse and a 2 course meal.
President Roger Smith pictured with Millers goalkeeper Jack Steggles who can hit a long ball himself will then do the presentations with special prizes for nearest the pin on selected holes and host the raffle draw which will no doubt once again have some fabulous prizes.
Further details will follow in due course, but in the meantime if you would like to enter a team contact Roger on 07836 387009.
This is one of the most popular events in the Carlton Town calendar and as been running for many years, only interrupted by Covid 19 and Smith is hoping for a good turnout as he along with Chairman Mick Garton and Vice Chairman Barry North begin the task of rebuilding the club’s finances following the pandemic which has devastated Sporting events in particular.
Carlton Town joint Manager Tommy Brookbanks who will be putting a team in on the day as also been in touch with us to announce two behind closed door friendlies.
There is still hope that supporters will be allowed in before the 17th May given the dramatic drop in Corona virus cases in the last two weeks and the Management team want to ensure the lads are fit and ready to go if the proposed local tournament gets the green light.
Carlton will play Hucknall Town at home on Saturday 17th April and visit Eastwood Cfc on Saturday 24th April, both at 3pm.
Only club officials and those working on the Matchday will be allowed into the Bill Stokeld Stadium on the 17th.
