PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES GOLF DAY AND MARSTONS ON BOARD AGAIN TO SUPPORT!
The focus at Carlton Town has changed very much in the last few days with the dramatic appointments of Tommy Brookbanks and Mark Harvey and much work is going on behind the scenes on the back of that, but Chairman Mick Garton and President Roger Smith are both conscious of the need to still concentrate on the core fund raising principles that enable the club to survive and meet their financial obligations.
The Dj set at the Dragon on the 19th May is crucially important to the club but equally is the clubs annual Golf Day at Oakmere Park and The President as now given us a date for the 2019 event.
This website can now reveal it will take place on Friday 16th August and once again Smith has managed to keep the price at £160 for a team of four.
Smith has managed to peg that price for numerous years and the club are also delighted to announce that Marstons Brewery who supply the bulk of the clubs beer will once again sponsor the event with support from Msr Newsgroup.
The event at Oakmere Park is extremely popular and Smith (pictured with the new joint managers) will be hoping that new joint manager Brookbanks can muster together a team.
Back in the day Chairman Mick Garton was part of Brookbanks side on the greens, but this website understands his game has deteriorated over time and we understand he would no longer be considered for selection.
That will not worry Garton to much, he considers the Golf Day to be the President’s baby, but will still be on hand to sell raffle tickets and donate to the day.
