PRESIDENT UPDATE AFTER MAJOR HOSPITAL OPERATIONS

Carlton Town President Roger Smith has been transferred to the Queens Medical Centre after two major operations in the last few days on his neck.

Roger has been moved to the Spinal Ward for urgent physio and has recovered movement in his left arm although doctors remain concerned about his right arm.

The family have given the club permission to post an update given the amount of concern regarding Roger’s condition and in response to all the messages of goodwill and support.

Club Chairman Mick Garton and Joint Manager Tommy Brookbanks have been given regular updates from the family.

Roger’s family are reassured by the Brillant consultant who is looking after Roger and the news that he will be able to walk again, but there are obviously some challenges ahead.

Roger is being lovingly supported by his family who have told us, that time is now needed for that recovery to hopefully progress at the QMC along with the excellent team there and that they will keep us informed.

The Family along with Mick and Tom would like to thank everyone for the lovely messages posted and we are all crossing our fingers and praying Roger will be back with us all at the Bill Stokeld Stadium sooner rather than later.

Roger is pictured with Club Captain Niall Davie commerating his 100th appearance for the club some time ago, while Roger was in hospital Niall made his 250th appearance for the club. We are sure Roger will be delighted to celebrate that when he is back with us.
