QUEST TO IMPROVE FACILITIES INCLUDING THE PITCH AT STOKE LANE BEGINS WITH DONATIONS, DRAGON DJ EVENT AND LANDLORDS MEETING COMFIRMED.

Despite no game on Saturday, much was going on behind the scenes and this website can now confirm that groundwork done by Chairman Mick Garton, Strategic Development Officer Dave Hodgson and Vernon Coaker has led to an important meeting with the landlords representatives taking place in the coming days with the club’s senior management committee, as the club looks at ways to access funds previously unavailable to the club to upgrade facilities at Stoke Lane and prepare for any possible promotion.

There is still much to do, but the meeting is a positive in itself and to show the club’s intent, they can now confirm the launching of a new fund solely for the infrastructure of the club, including the pitch.

That fund will be officially launched at The Dragon on Sunday 29th March when the usual suspects will spin the tunes and be joined by new guest Dj Dave Shorrocks.

Two substantial donations have already been made with new Vice President Jackie North kick starting the fund with £1,000, while close friends of Mick and Estelle Garton, Jenny and Peter who have donated to previous Dragon Events in 2019 have also sent £500 meaning the club already has £1,500 in the kitty.

Chairman Mick Garton will sponsor the day’s big raffle and as already donated two places in a hospitality box for a 20/20 game at Trent Bridge this summer worth around £250.

The superb first prize includes food and drink and the raffle will be drawn on the afternoon at the Dragon, which the club are hoping will be supported by management, Players, Commitee members and supporters alike and the fact people can see that the club are actively seeking to support the progress made on the pitch, since the appointments of Tommy Brookbanks and Mark Harvey will hopefully bring a positive response.

Jackie is to start running a number card at home games for the fund and is determined to hit the ground running as she already shown with her donation.

The club will keep Supporters up to date with the progress of the fund once it has been officially launched and where and when any any money is spent.
