SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP MATCHBALL FOR THE THE BIG DAY !
Former Motherwell striker Mark Slythe turned up at Stoke Lane this afternoon with donations for the raffle and a Scottish Premiership Matchball to kick Sunday’s big Charity game off with.
Slythe pictured on the pitch in front of the Millers new marquee with the Matchball, met Boatsy and Carlton Chairman Mick Garton and the three of them did an hour long show with Pitch Radio which is an online social media radio station promoting the game and talking everything football and Mark had some harsh words for the English and Scottish Football Associations in a compelling interview.
The trio teamed up with volunteers all preparing the Bill Stokeld Stadium for Sunday’s game and took time out for a training session on Carlton’s 3G pitch with Dj Sanj Beri and Boatsy’s lad Charlie.
Mark was impressed with what he saw and told us, he could not wait for the game having come from Scotland to play in it and described the Auction and raffle prizes as amazing.
“Mark is a massive fans of grass roots football and it was a pleasure to meet him and listen to his views on the radio show, he has had a 22 year career which is an accomplishment in itself” said Chairman Mick Garton.
“This is our first fund raising event at the ground for over a year and we are really buzzing for it, it is the first step towards starting to stand on our own two feet again and I would like to thank every single person who has got behind this in such a fantastic way and in particular Boatsy, what a wonderful character and it is a pleasure to have him involved with our club”
“Admission is by donation on the gate from 1pm and the football starts at 3pm and the weather forecast is brilliant” concluded the Millers Chairman.
Finally, after the breaking news a few days ago that Niall Davie had extended his contract, Josh Hodgson caught up with him on Zoom and that interview is now on Carlton Town tv, check out our Twitter feed to watch the excellent interview!
