SEVEN BROKEN RIBS BUT BRIAN SITTING UP IN HOSPITAL THINKING HOW HE CAN RAISE MONEY FOR CARLTON DURING EXTENDED LOCKDOWN!
We are delighted to report that Brian Dennett has been in touch with us today and asked us to thank everyone for all the kind messages he has received on his phone and through the Carlton Town twitter account and through messages passed on through his many friends in football.
Brian told us how he had fallen down the stairs and broken 7 ribs and told us that if he had made to much of an effort to move about after his terrible fall, he could well have died, the doctors had told him.
After successful surgery, he is on the mend but accepts, he will be out of competitive action as it were for some time to come, but he is concerned at the news of a further extended lockdown and the impact once again on his beloved Carlton Town.
He reported to us “I am sitting at the side of my bed with plenty of time on my hands and coming up with some new fund raising ideas which are very interesting and I will report back when I have it put it together” Dennett told us.
Aside from his own injuries, Brian has also lost a dear lady friend who sadly had a heart atack and died during his hospital stay, so on the whole, it has been a pretty devastating week for Carlton’s highly respected and popular Commercial Manager, but everyone at the club is wishing him a speedy recovery and he really is grateful for all the kind messages a spokesman for the club told us this evening.
