SEVEN UNBEATEN FOR THE MILLERS BUT FRUSTATION AT LAST DITCH EQUALISER
Carlton Town made it seven games unbeaten on Saturday in front of another decent crowd with 234 inside the Bill Stokeld Stadium, but were disappointed to concede a late Newton Aycliffe equaliser in the final minute of injury time at Stoke Lane.
In fairness, Carlton had done the same to Sheffield on Tuesday night, but it still hurts when you consider how well the Millers had played, particularly in the first half which they dominated and end up with only a point, rather than three.
Goals from skipper Niall Davie and Nat Watson had given the Millers a well deserved half time lead, but Newton Aycliffe came out in the second half with purpose and scored quickly through Dale Elgin.
Carlton ended up regretting other missed chances, as Wayne Whitehead scored the late equaliser after being the first to react to a second ball after Carlton had headed away a corner.
A special mention to the Newton Aycliffe supporters who were a credit to their club, warm, friendly and many were well oiled at the final whistle, they were great company.
There was a special presentation in the Clubhouse after the game for Dan Brown who we featured on the website this week following his 200th appearance for the Millers and for Dean Freeman who has brought up 100 appearances.
A massive Thankyou to Nottingham Express Carriers for their sponsorship of the trophies for this and fantastic to see Viv Smith in the house to assist with proceedings.
Let’s enjoy the presentations and also hear what Tommy had to say post match when he spoke to John Desmond Bryson from Carlton Town Tv.
