SPECIAL GUEST COMFIRMED FOR SUNDAY AND MATCH TO BE FILMED ON GRASSROOT TV.

Carlton Town are delighted to announce that WBA Featherweight Champion of the World Leigh Wood will be the club’s very special guest at Sunday’s Charity game.

Leigh dramatically defended his title at the Nottingham Arena in March when he knocked out Michael Conlan in the final round, in one of the greatest fights ever seen at the Arena.

Leigh played in last years game, but can not risk the chance of an injury ahead of his next fight, but told Chairman Mick Garton at a recent event at the Southbank Bar that he was keen to still come and support the day and that has now been officially confirmed and the club are delighted.

In a separate development, the club’s Strategic Development Officer Dave Hodgson has comfirmed he has sponsored a new initiative for the day, with the game being filmed by a drone and shown live in The Howard Mitchell Sportsbar courtesy of Grassroot Tv, there is a slight satellite delay, but replays can be shown and after match interviews broadcast live and showed again after the game on the Club’s main screen.

Former Nottingham Forest stars Paul McKenna and Jason Lee are among those appearing in the World Game Changers side and Sam Dingle (Actor James Hooton) has also agreed to appear although he may not be fit enough to play.

Anticipation is building ahead of the game and Charity Chief Paul Lowe and Millers Chairman Mick Garton are scheduled to speak on Mark Dennison’s Radio Nottingham show at around 10.20am on Friday to discuss and promote the big game which kicks off at 2.30pm at Stoke Lane. Admission is by a voluntary donation on the gate.
