SPONSORS AND SUPPORTERS RALLY TO THE CAUSE FOR THE MILLERS!

Off the pitch, Carlton are going through one of their most difficult periods in recent years, only two home games played since January 1st, with one of those being technically an away game meaning cash flow has been badly affected, the storm damage has been well documented last week and the cost of having to move Academy games to Long Eaton United are all taking their toll on the club, but one big positive has been the response of the Supporters and Sponsors.

Ben at Print Spin was one of the first to come forward to donate some of the fencing required following last week’s storm damage, Supporters Steve and Seb stepped up to the plate by giving a day up to put in new fence posts and the efforts of club volunteers such as Bob and Wally in coordinating repairs should also be applauded.

One of the club’s major sponsors Lindleys have come forward to sponsor a Match Ball and have taken half a table for the John o Hare event, committee man Dave Hodgson has committed to at least half a table and the main sponsor of our friends at Mapperley All Stars, Trent Instruments have this week booked a table, meaning 65 of the 100 tickets available have now been sold.

Ash came forward with a proposal and with input from Dave Hodgson is seeing if we can achieve a £500 grant.

Central Fire and security have been in touch to book 10 places for the forthcoming Race Day at Southwell Racecourse on Sunday 12th April.

Asap have helped out with some equipment repairs at the ground and raffle prizes are coming in for the Big Groundfund draw to be held at the Dg event at the Dragon on Sunday 29th March.

Msr Newsgroup have donated two tickets in a Executive box at Trent Bridge for the T20 game v Leicestershire Foxes on Saturday 13th June to include food and drink, the club have secured a £50 voucher from Hooters and a £30 voucher from Bombay on Radcliffe Road West Bridgford for that big draw.

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club have promised a 20/20 family pass for this summer’s Nat West T20 Blast and there have been others who have contacted the club offering help and asking if there is anything they can do.

It has indeed been a negative week for the club on the pitch as well with the injury announcement regarding Captain Tom Maddison, both arranged fixtures at home to Chasetown and away to Newcastle Town being called off and a fixture backlog is now a real possibility, but on behalf of the players, managers and Commitee, this website would like to place on record our thanks to everyone for rallying round, those mentioned in this article and also those who are not, the club is a partnership between those on the pitch, those coaching them, those supporting them and those funding them and this season to date has been a credit to every one of those four departments and it that spirit that will get this club through the challenges it faces,  onwards and upwards!
