SQUAD TAKING SHAPE AS MILLERS DEFEAT RADFORD!

A first half hatrick from Tyler Blake saw Carlton comfortably see off Radford Fc 3-0 in an entertaining friendly in Hyson Green.
The bad news for Carlton was both Blake and fellow striker Kimani Wilson went off injured and Joint managers Tommy Brookbanks (pictured) and Mark Harvey will be hoping there is no long term damage, particularly in the case of Blake who went down under a heavy challenge at the start of the second half and was led away by the Carlton pyscio team.
The squad certainly looks to be taking shape with Brookbanks and Harvey using a mix of experienced players they brought back to the club like Martin Ball, Daniel Fletcher, Tom Maddison, Luke Smithson and Danny Elliot and deciding to stick with a number of Wayne Scotts players who they believe have a future at the club.
Jack Steggles, Oliver Clarke, Toby Moore, Niall Davey, Tyler Blake and Kyle Stovell were all in the squad for this game.
Talented younger players have also been brought in with Tyler Johal, Dan Brown, Kimani Wilson, Damon Charlton and goalkeeper Warren Squire among those given an opportunity against Radford.
A number of other players were either injured or unavailable and Brookbanks and Harvey are keeping things pretty close to their chest at the moment, but this website understands that a number of other players may go out on loan on dual signatures arrangements.
The new joint managers have promised the committee a preliminary squad in the coming days, which will enable the club to launch the kit support scheme which supporters have got behind in the past.
Carlton face a really tough game on Saturday when Shildon are the visitors to Stoke Lane 3pm with Carlton likely to be without some key personnel, but that in turn will give the opportunity for others to step up to the plate.
Supporters are reminded that Saturday is the final day to take advantage of the early bird season ticket offer and Chairman Mick Garton and Vice Chairman Barry North who’s excellent interview with Dean Wykes is now on line, will both be at Saturday’s game as they were for the Radford fixture and will be hoping a few more fans take advantage of the superb offer.
