SUCCESSFUL QUIZ NIGHT WRAPS UP THREE DAYS OF FUND RAISING

Carlton Town wrapped up 3 days of fundraising with a successful quiz night at the William Gunn in West Bridgford.

The events of the previous two days had been for the people of Ukraine via the “Trophy for peace” day  on Sunday and “Children with Cancer Uk”on Monday, but Tuesday night was about raising some money for the Millers with work to be done in the summer on the pitch and in particular new machinery for the groundsman to assist with the maintenance going forward.

Although we are still waiting on the final figure from Taz on what was raised on Sunday, including the money raised at the Greyfriars club in the evening, this website understands, approximately £2,400 was raised from the Carlton Town part of the day.

Regarding Monday, Oakfield Construction have been in touch with the club, with Managing Director Mark Flint making a personal call of thanks for the superb effort which resulted in a total of  £2,005 being raised towards an overall target of £15,000 for “Children with Cancer Uk”

Tuesday night saw members of the Carlton Town Committee and supporters and friends make up over half the audience for Simon Fotheringham’s quiz night and a combination of the Quiz, Sticky 13 courtesy of Kelly and her friend Jo and the raffle sponsored by MSR Newsgroup raised a total of £489.50 for the Millers.
Congratulations to Will Booth who won the first prize of Nottingham Forest Hospitality for two for  a game next season.

More fund raising for good causes is to come, before the pitch is handed over to the groundsman on Monday 19th May for summer remedial work and will be out of use until Saturday 12th July when Carlton will play their first home friendly.
Details of that game and others will follow in due course, indeed there will be plenty to report in the coming days and weeks.

Finally for today, we leave you with some unique drone footage from last Sunday at the Bill Stokeld Stadium, courtesy of Matt DK, a big thankyou to Matt for this fascinating overview of the ground and what was happening, as people came together to raise crucial money for the people of Ukraine.
