SUPPORTERS INITIATIVE IS MASSIVE AND COULD ULTIMATELY SAVE THE CLUB ADMITS CHAIRMAN

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton today told us today that the financial bombshells hitting football and hammering Carlton Town will get worse before they get better.

“It’s my understanding that we will lose the final instalment of our Academy funding as the funding providers will not pay for a classroom and pitches that are no longer being used”

“This is yet to be officially comfirmed but a hit of another 4K on top of everything else will be devastating admitted the Millers Chairman ”

” In the current environment, you just take things on the chin, because life is more important than football, but the hammer blows, just keep on coming”

“The loss of gate receipts in games against Stamford, Cleethorpes, Ilkeston, Newark Flowserve, Belper Town, Lincoln United and Stocksbridge which would most certainly have been some of our best of the season is the first big blow”

“The knock on effect is the loss of Bar takings, Snack Bar takings, raffle and Programme sales, many of which have already been printed and paid for due to postponements along with Match Ball Sponsorships which were full and we had the Cleethorpes game fully sponsored”

“The postponement of John O Hare, the Dragon fundraiser and The Day at Southwell Races plus the Sponsorship that goes with these came next”

“The cancellation of pretty much all our 3G bookings, forthcoming Soccer Schools and Charity events and Clubhouse lets for presentations and parties along with the closure of the bar then followed”

“The whole fabric of how a club operates at this level as been ripped out, but the one saving grace have been our supporters, the players, Commitee and management”

“Any savings on wage costs have been minimal, given the substantial amount of income we have lost and are continuing to lose” continued the Chairman.

“The 100 club I understand has now reached 70 with a significant number of the first team squad and both managers I understand already signed up, the majority of the committee and a substantial number of supporters on board and I would also like to thank the kind person who donated £100, what a star he is”

“The Beauty of this is that it is all done by direct debit at £10 per month , so there is no chasing up people for money, it is both historic and a game changer and it’s importance is pivotal to the future of this football club”

“This lays the foundation of a regular income stream, while myself, Barry, Roger and Dave etc try and find ways of rebuilding our finances and paying invoices such as ground rent and water rates and insurance, (which are all due in the coming weeks and run into thousands) when all this is over and ensuring the club survives at this level of football”

“I am not exaggerating when I say this scheme could be the thing that makes the difference, it was a brilliant idea by Alan Murphy and I would like to thank all the players, management, committee members and supporters who have been in touch with the Supporters club and I would urge all those who may not have got round to it yet, to please get in touch with Alan Murphy via @carltonfans on twitter or privately, let’s get up to the 100, it really is that important ” concluded the Millers Chairman.
