TEN MAN CARLTON THRASH MARKET DRAYTON AT STOKE LANE.

Carlton Town faced a nervous afternoon with rain once again falling on their pitch after the skies opened up at around 2pm, but thankfully the pitch came through a 4pm inspection and joint manager Tommy Brookbanks was quickly on Twitter with a rallying call.

Arron Opoku (pictured) gave Carlton the lead from the penalty spot before disaster struck for the Millers with Daniel Fletcher receiving his first red card for 4 years following a high challenge which the referee deemed dangerous.

Carlton responsed magnificently to going a man down with Arron Opoku right on top of his game and it was no surprise when he added a second before the interval.

The first goal of the second half would be crucial, given Carlton were a man down, but it was they who got the goal again as Tommy and Mark continued with a policy of going forward despite the numerical disadvantage.

It was Tyler Blake who bundled home the 3rd, before Aaron Opoku was put through and finished in style to make it 4-0 and complete a fantastic hatrick

Market Drayton also went down to ten men later on in the game when Lucas Green-Birch received a second yellow card for a trip as Carlton broke with pace.

Carlton are back up to sixth and on the verge of the playoffs with games in hand and Carlton Town Tv caught up with joint manager Tommy Brookbanks after the game.

With Josh Hodgson on a skiing holiday with his dad skiing legend Dave” Eddie Edwards” Hodgson and Neil Ward taking in a Notts County game , it was left to Eamonn Dumbfree who is back in the country for the Cheltenham Festival to get himself down to Stoke Lane for the post match interview and his interview with Tommy will be released in due course.

While Eammon makes his way back to Cheltenham to meet up with broadcasting legend Alan Brazil, Tommy and Mark will hope to build on this excellent win with another positive result on Saturday when Glossop North End visit the Bill Stokeld Stadium.
