THREE WINS OUT OF THREE AND OVER £800 RAISED AT SOUTHWELL!

It was a double whammy of success for Carlton Town, with the side winning 1-0 at Kidsgrove to make it 3 wins out of 3 for new managers Tommy Brookbanks and Mark Harvey and the Chairman and two committee colleagues helping Carlton raise over £800 in partnership with Southwell Racecourse on a boiling Bank Holiday afternoon.

Tim Bee and Greg Last were on board to support the Chairman’s fund raising effort,  while Vice Chairman Barry North was at Kidsgrove along with other Commitee members including Mark Steggles whom we spoke to after the game.

Garton had already committed to the Southwell event before the appointment of Brookbanks and Harvey and the estimated £800 raised is a massive boost to the Millers.

On the pitch however, Carlton also continued to deliver and it was that man Tom Maddison again with a Penalty who secured the three points for Carlton Town.

Carlton move up to third in the league, their highest position for quite some time , with only Stamford and Leek Town above them, also with 3 wins from 3.

Carlton are back in action on Saturday when Frickley visit Stoke Lane 3pm.

Carlton Commitee man Mark Steggles was full of praise for the team.

“It was a pulsating first half and to be fair we were on the back foot for much of the second half, with Jack (pictured)  in goal superb and man of the match, the work rate of the team overall was outstanding and massive credit should be given to Captain Cool Tom Maddison who kept his cool and slotted home the penalty after substitute Tyler Blake was brought down late on” said Steggles.
