TOP HELP CONTINUES FROM TRENT BRIDGE TO HOPEFULLY SAVE MILLERS HOME FIXTURES!

Carlton Chairman Mick Garton met with Secretary Trevor Wells at the Bill Stokeld Stadium today ahead of visit from Nottinghamshire County Crocket Clubs head groundsman, who along with others at Trent Bridge are working to hopefully navigate Carlton through the remaining home games of the season.
The Millers would have been playing Pontefract on a beautiful Tuesday evening at Stoke Lane, with the temperatures an unbelievable 15 degrees and the pitch completely playable, but this game will now be played tomorrow night at Basford United as the Millers are not allowed to play any more home games at Stoke Lane during March by order of the Northern Premier League, because of the number of home postponements this season at the Bill Stokeld Stadium, due to the waterlogged conditions in the last few weeks which has led to games being called off.

The club are hoping supporters will come along to Basford as the club will keep the gate and raffle money to help towards the evenings costs and would appreciate supporters having a go on the raffle for example. given the dire financial affect the league’s decision is having on the Millers.

To add to the clubs woes both in terms of players and supporters, Carlton’s fixture on Saturday against Dunston has now been moved to Morpeth meaning extra travel costs and the coach will now have to leave at the earlier time of 9am from the ground and will pick up from Millers Barn at 9.30am. The cost for travel for supporters will remain at £15 for the journey and return and the club would like to thank those who have already booked seats, Boatsy can be contacted on 07907 064189 if you wish to book a seat.

The club would like to place on record their thanks to Chris and Jess Munroe at Basford for their help and kindness with the rearranged home fixture and look forward to seeing as many people as possible at Basford on Wednesday evening.
