Home of the Millers

October 24, 2023

There was much surprise when Carlton’s match v Stocksbridge was given the go ahead on Saturday, so it was not a big surprise when Tuesday nights fixture fell foul of the weather, with more heavy rain in the early hours of Tuesday morning and a severe weather warning in place, the referee was left with no choice but to make an early decision with Stockton facing a six hour round trip for the midweek game and the match was called off.

There is news to report however with the quarter final draw of the Notts Senior Cup being made live on Notts Tv with non other than Mr Tim Bee taking part and pulling out the way teams. Carlton or Newark and Sherwood Fc who the Millers must beat away from home to get into the quarter finals when they play their match on Wednesday 7th November have been drawn at home to either the Mansfield Town Fc Academy or Basford United.

An exciting draw indeed for the winners and the Millers know they have a tough game to win if they are to progress to the last eight with Newark and Sherwood beating them in last years final at Eastwood Town. Gedling Miners Welfare or Nottingham Forest Academy will play Radford Fc, Rainworth will play Eastwood while Clipstone will play Sherwood Colliery.

Carlton visit the coast on Saturday when they play Bridlington and coach return travel is available for supporters at just £15 on the team coach. It leaves the ground at 10.15am and Millers Barn at 10.45pm, message Boatsy on 07907 064189 in the usual way if you wish to book a place and rest assured, the club appreciates your support.
