UPDATE FROM STOKE LANE FOLLOWING STOCKSBRIDGE DEFEAT!

Carlton Town’s bad run of form continued with a 2-0 defeat at Stocksbridge Park Steels on Saturday, but the Millers can count themselves unlucky, hitting the woodwork on no less than three occasions.

It is fact of football life than luck tends to go against teams struggling for a win and the Millers got a full on dose of that yesterday.

The management team are working hard to strengthen and hopefully improve the squad and on Tuesday will once again attempt to play a friendly against Eastwood Cfc at Stoke Lane to look at some trialists and fringe players, kick off 7.30pm.

The friendly was originally scheduled for last week, but was cancelled due to a watterlogged pitch and supporters are welcome to attend the game this Tuesday free of charge.

Commercial and Marketing Manager Gary Clarke and Chairman Mick Garton have launched a second Football super card with £600 worth of T20 Hospitality at Trent Bridge the prize for a 2023 fixture and between them they have already sold over 25 of the 100 numbers at £10 each.

Msr Employee Josh Boulton was the first to support the new draw and is pictured with the card at the company’s Radcliffe Road store.

The extra fund raising was agreed at the recent board meeting, due to a substantial increase in outgoing costs and in particular Travel expenses caused by the move to the Northern Premier East League , the club are genuinely grateful for any help and support forthcoming at the moment.

Boatsy for the same reason has also put out an appeal for Sponsors for the rest of the seasons homes games and it has received a positive response and we will confirm Sponsors in due course.

Finally the Academy are also back in action at Stoke Lane this coming Thursday with a 12 midday kick off .
