WEEK THAT STARTED SO WELL ENDS SO BADLY !

Carlton Town came out of last weekend with an extremely credible draw against Ossett United and followed that up by avoiding a potential banana skin in the Notts Senior Cup by beating Newark Flowserve 2-0 in midweek, despite having to use all three substitutes in the first half due to a couple of really nasty injuries.

The problems of winning at home this season however have not gone away and Carlton suffered another difficult afternoon at Stoke Lane, this time going down 5-1 to inform Cleethorpes to leave themselves with much work to do in the coming weeks if they are to climb out of the danger zone.

One of the few positives was another good finish by Kyle Stovell (pictured) in an otherwise frustrating afternoon for the Millers, who also conceded two penalties, one in each half which were both converted.

Carlton are away at high flying Sheffield Fc next Saturday the 2nd February, before another away trip on 9th February to Belper Town, before Spalding visit Stoke Lane on Saturday 16th February.
