BACK TO BACK WINS FOR THE YOUNG MILLERS

For the first Time this season, the reserves WIN back to back in the league and hopefully the start of a bit of consistency.

Saturday saw the visit  of Linby MW to the eagle valley (home of the young millers )Again paul had little option and had to change the starting line up, with Jack Steggles doing what he does best saving penalties for the first team!  Dan Flint out injured Andrew Brigham & Anjola unavailable.

LIke in the away game a very scrappy start with very little quality. Although the weather didn’t help.

The first chance came for linby a free kick on the edge of the carlton Box, the linby player smashed the ball against the carlton wall, but for some reason the referee ordered a retake! fortunately for carlton Linby were unable to convert.

The young Millers had moments of some good possession but only creating some half chances. Again Syme was in the heart of everything going forward. He was unlucky not to put carlton in the lead when he picked up a loose ball beating the linby defence and keeper but was unlucky to hit the post.

However a few minutes later rio won possession in the middle of the park and played a great ball through to syme where he was able to convert to put carlton 1-0 up.

HALFTIME CARLTON 1 LINBY 0

The 2nd half started like the first with scrappy football and neither team really getting any foothold in the game, but with that said, when you have a striker with the quality of syme you know if a chance falls to him you are always in with a good chance.

So of course a chance fell to syme for him to convert and get his Brace for the second week running to make it 2-0 carlton!

The third came for carlton with a syme ( Pictured)  being the provider for Ellis to make it 3-0.

A combination of subs and Linby changing  the their formation caused carlton to struggle with game management!  Linby played to the end and quickly pulled 2 goals back, to give carlton a nervy finish to the game.

A special mention to Izaak in goal who pulled some good saves to keep the carlton team in the game.
